About the Role
Your primary responsibility is to fabricate the output of the New Media Project. It is to breathe life into the team's concepts by creating physical iterations. This involves spearheading material selection, utilizing fabrication tools and software, testing and refining prototypes, and collaborating across disciplines to seamlessly integrate the final artwork and other outputs.
What does this role entail?
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address fabrication-related challenges, proposing innovative solutions when necessary.
Design and Analysis: Create and analyze mechanical systems using CAD, ensuring designs meet specifications and safety standards.
Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address any issues and collect relevant data to iterate appon
Collaboration and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to integrate fabricated components into the final artwork.
Technical skills: Competence in utilizing tools, techniques, and equipment, with a focus on general machining skills.
Design Process knowledge : Understanding of design processes and techniques, coupled with hands-on experience in general machining.
CAD experience: Knowledge and practical experience in using CAD programs such as SolidWorks, Fusion360, or similar tools.
Mechanical Physics: Basic understanding of the statics and dynamics of mechanical structures, contributing to a comprehensive skill set.
